e-thelontis is the official volunteer platform of the Municipality of Elliniko–Argyroupoli, through which citizens can stay informed about the Municipality’s volunteer initiatives, register to participate, and become part of an ongoing effort to support people, protect the environment, and contribute to the local community.

Volunteerism has long been an established institution within the Municipality of Elliniko–Argyroupoli, making a meaningful contribution to the everyday life of the city. This commitment is expressed through two well-organized volunteer teams, each operating with dedication, responsibility and a distinct mission, while providing valuable services in different areas.

The Volunteer Corps of the Municipality of Elliniko–Argyroupoli, established in 2014, takes part in initiatives related to social solidarity, culture, sports, environmental protection and the support of municipal events, contributing daily to strengthening social cohesion and improving the quality of life of local residents.

The Volunteer Forest Protection and Firefighting Team of the Municipality of Elliniko–Argyroupoli (EODPEA) was established in 2015 following the major wildfire on Mount Hymettus and is now an integral part of the Municipality’s Civil Protection planning. With trained volunteers and a continuous operational presence, the Team is active throughout the year in disaster prevention and emergency response, forest protection, wildfire suppression, search and rescue operations, first aid, as well as initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting Mount Hymettus.

Although each team has a different mission, they share the same purpose: to serve others through selfless commitment, solidarity and active civic participation. Through continuous training, close cooperation and a strong sense of responsibility, the volunteers of the Municipality of Elliniko–Argyroupoli stand alongside citizens, providing meaningful support whenever and wherever it is needed.
